Dr. Sandrine Barakat completed her D.M.D. at the University of Montreal in 2009. She then pursued postgraduate studies in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2012, also completing a Masters of Science in Oral Biology leading to a published paper. Dr. Barakat worked in private practice in Philadelphia until 2015, while teaching in the department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. She currently practices in Laval and in Westmount, and is a clinician at the university. Dr. Barakat is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is a member of multiple associations such as the American Academy of Periodontology, the Canadian Academy of Periodontology and the Quebec Association of Periodontists, and has been invited to lecture at different dental societies in Quebec, in the United States, and in Europe.
